Sunny seaside days slowly slip away
Sirius stretches to slowly rise anew
Driving dogs in madness run askew
Somber sonnets no longer hold sway

Pen and paper are painful put away
Silent gaze turns to life’s review
And dogs are left for future rue
Ravaging all men’s work in a day

Wake, wake from slumber’s embrace
As the dog’s consumption draws
Let not our holy trinity die
Leaving us in God’s disgrace
Willing subjects to evil star’s claws
The dogs of Sirius are drawing nigh
