Linda, growing up my hero was Lincoln. I guess, now that you’ve made me think about it, my heroes have changed the world for the better.

That being said I find I cannot consider any contemporary a hero of mine. This is probably due to the fact that the lens of time and history are required to really know what a person accomplished in their lives.

Having a living person as a hero invites disappointment later. See Lance Armstrong or Bill Cosby for example.
